Who We’re Seeking: People would describe you as passionate, driven, energetic, AND technically minded. Must have a strong work ethic, coupled with the ability to influence others, drive sales and serve as the trusted advisor to your customers to solve their biggest engineering challenges. We’re seeking a “hunter” who can grow their given territory significantly while maintaining great relationships with customers and the manufacturers we represent. Strong technical communications skills and organization are critical; you can explain how something works, how it will solve a problem and/or work within a manufacturing process. Managing your schedule, book of business, calls and emails from customers is second nature to you. You love being in front of the customer and aren’t afraid to go the extra mile to get your foot in the door, hand-deliver an order, or help in a pinch.
Territories: Eastern PA, New Jersey, NYC/Long Island Area(s)
Location: Ideal candidate will live somewhere within or near assigned territory.
Travel / Office: Candidate would work out of their home office with local travel to existing customers and building relationships with new customers throughout the territory. Occasional overnight travel required for training and meetings. Initially would need to spend significant time at our headquarters in Edgemont, PA (southwest of Philadelphia) for training and immersion on the product lines. Typically visit the ECI office as needed for additional sales meetings / training.
Compensation: $75k-$100k (based on experience) plus a variable compensation package

RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in business/engineering/ or technical degree preferred. Industrial automation or process industry experience preferred. We sell, service and support process control products to engineers/technicians in industrial applications; technical sales experience, analytical aptitude and curiosity are essential to the role.
Experience: While we are open to a new/recent graduate who could be trained, we prefer someone who has a passion for process applications within water / wastewater treatment, environmental or other life-sustaining manufacturing facilities. Candidates must possess an enthusiasm for the types of products we sell and service (process measurement instrumentation, controls valves, actuators, positioners, gas & flame detection and electrical heat trace) and show clear evidence of personal success in growing/building a business (or similar endeavor).
