Mandatory Internship (m/f/d) Finance & Modelling – Renewable Energies

Renergo develops large-scale PV free-space systems, wind farms and battery storage (BESS) nationwide – and as an independent power producer (IPP) is now taking the next step: from pure project developer to operator of its own facilities.

For our IPP & Finance division, we are looking for an intern with good numerical understanding and very strong Excel skills. You work directly with our VP IPP & Finance, evaluate real projects and gain experience with AI-assisted processes. Our decentralized team has around 20 employees and short decision-making paths: your results go directly to the management.

Your Tasks

You support our Vice President IPP & Finance in the area of finance and modelling for projects in the renewable energy sector. Your activities include:

• Support with economic assessment of our PV, BESS and wind projects in the Excel financial model

• Scenario and sensitivity analyses as well as optimization of technical and economic design decisions (e.g. storage size, layout, marketing strategy)

• Modelling of plant revenues using platforms such as Re-Twin and enervis

• Support for our project managers with modelling tasks and economic calculations

• Collaboration on AI-assisted workflows (e.g. with Claude) for project analysis and comparison

• Documentation and further development of models, templates and processes

Your Profile

You bring the following requirements:

• Ongoing studies (Master's or advanced Bachelor's) in Business Administration, Finance, Business Engineering, Energy Economics or a comparable field

• Very good Excel skills: you work confidently with formulas and large datasets. Knowledge of macros and VBA is an advantage

• Experience in financial modelling, renewable energies or project financing is a plus, but not a requirement

• Experience with AI tools such as Claude is an advantage

• Analytical, structured and careful working method: you critically check figures before adopting them

• Very good German and English language skills

Your first months

In the first months you will familiarize yourself with our existing financial models and take on your own calculations for our solar parks. You will accompany economic analyses and support management with financing questions. If you do not meet all requirements one hundred percent, we still look forward to your application.
