Role Overview:

The National Sales Analyst (NSA) is an integral member of the National Accounts sales team. The NSA partners closely with both the new and existing business sales teams to enable and support the growth of client and consultant relationships within the segment. The NSA owns the RFP/RFI processes from end-to-end, coordinating and driving activity & communication across internal matrix partners to ensure alignment with client strategy and NYL GBS’ market message.

What You’ll Do:

RFP Project Manager

  • Responsible for down streaming NDAs to GBS Legal team for review, executing, and returning to broker/client before RFP release.
  • Manage new business RFP process end-to-end for GBS RFPs
    • This includes marketings with both existing/new business products.
      • Initial RFP review and down streaming to matrix partners, final review & submission, follow up questions, and Best and Final Offer.
    • Support NST/NAE for finalist meeting prep
  • Partner with NST/NAE to determine strategy for RFP, and ensure strategy is reflected in proposal
  • Confirm all components of RFP request are included in final proposal
  • Ensure best in class RFP response reflecting NYL GBS’ capabilities delivered on time
  • Understand and correctly apply all established processes and SOPs, within expected timelines
  • Lead internal teams to secure any non-standard approvals and include in response
    • Enterprise Qualification Process (EQP) submission and follow up via Group Tools Portal (GTP) dashboard.
  • Schedule/attend all RFP related calls
  • Serve as the central knowledge base for every RFP
  • Manage RFP volume efficiently and effectively during peak selling season

Additional Responsibilities

  • Responsible for down streaming NDAs to GBS Legal team for review, executing, and returning to broker/client before.
  • Manage Off Cycle opportunity entry for RFP process. As Off Cycle opportunities do not generally involve questionnaires, Underwriting and Account Management will be responsible for the remainder of the life of the opportunity, working together to finalize rates/proposals and deliver to client.
  • If a Renewal is needed ahead of the standard rate guarantee, NSA will generate the Renewal upon request; Underwriting and Account Management will work together to finalize rates/proposals and deliver to client.

Strategic Partner – Internal & External

  • NST/NAE
    • Manage relationships with NSTs and NAEs
  • Internal Matrix Partners
    • Coordinate all internal matrix partners working on RFP, including NST/NAE, underwriting, account management, implementation, etc.
    • Engage matrix partners as applicable through process and remain connected and available to them
    • Manage internal deadlines, schedule status calls, address issues as they arise
  • External Consultants
    • Develop and maintain consultant relationships in aligned region
    • Respond to consultant emails/requests in timely fashion
    • Serve as external presence along with NST/NAE during RFP process

Subject Matter Expert

  • Maintain deep understanding of GBS’ group products/capabilities and National Accounts processes, people, and nuances
  • Expand and enhance knowledge of market message, new products, and specialty solutions
  • Understand market landscape and consultant trends in aligned markets

Team Contributor

  • Proactively share best practices with NSA team members
  • Own off-season process improvement projects (self-directed)
  • Actively participate in weekly/monthly/annual team calls/meetings
  • Engage in interview process for new hires when applicable
  • Train and mentor new team members when applicable

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proficient knowledge (min. 3-5 years) in group insurance business; to include any or all of the following: GBS product knowledge, underwriting, risk and financial analysis skills, marketing processes, sales practices, and knowledge of administrative operations.
  • Position requires significant technical knowledge, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong personal computing skills, emphasizing on the Microsoft Office suite of programs is required.
  • Exceptional project management skills. Individual must be detail oriented, collaborative, customer-focused, innovative, results-oriented and solution focused.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred; MBA or similar advanced degree highly desired

Pay Transparency

Salary range:$57,500-$90,000

Overtime eligible:Nonexempt

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
