The role:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Principal Salesforce Engineer will be the technical leader of our Salesforce development team. You will drive end-to-end programs and implementations in Jobber’s Salesforce ecosystem and integrated systems.

In this role, you must champion best practices for well-tested, scalable, and well-organized code. In addition, you will customize and extend tools and processes to increase the effectiveness of your team.

The Principal Salesforce Engineer will:

  • Leverage SFDC expertise to act as a technical architect and hands-on Salesforce developer for Jobber.
  • Act as a leader, coach and mentor for the development team.
  • Design and manage technical architecture solutions involving multiple platforms, focused on integration, authentication, and scalability.
  • Make informed decisions on architectural design, considering trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations.
  • Design and build Salesforce solutions in collaboration with the Functional teams, deciding on the best mix of declarative, programmatic, and AppExchange solutions.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Salesforce at Jobber.
    • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on the Salesforce platform and beyond, focusing on:
    • In-depth Salesforce platform knowledge, staying updated with releases and guiding on new capabilities.
    • Security coordination with stakeholders to ensure integrated technical strategies.
    • Design and implement integrations with external systems, focusing on Salesforce APIs, middleware, and custom development for data integrity and security.
  • End-to-End Technical Solutions:
    • Develop scalable & adaptable solutions with a balanced use of configuration and low code.
    • Maintain architectural documentation and support the current Salesforce instance, ensuring best practices in data model, coding, and security.
    • Drive UX and design strategies, seeking platform adoption improvements.
    • Identify process and system optimization opportunities for efficiency and enhanced user experience.

To be successful, you should have:

  • Expert-level experience in Salesforce technical architecture implementations, customization, integration and data migration, with approx 8+ years of experience.
  • You are a software developer at heart, with excellent APEX, and SOQL programming skills.
  • Strong experience with agile methodologies including version control (Git), CI/CD, Automated testing & Quality control, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration with experience working cross-functionally with other engineering and stakeholder teams to delivery end-to-end solutions.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience building Salesforce integrations with other Object-Oriented-based in-house applications, using relevant APIs and Integration frameworks
  • Strong Salesforce solutions background, including strategy and management.
  • Expertise in Salesforce Security, Integration, and technologies such as REST, SOAP, and EAI processes.
  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect, System Architect, and other relevant certifications.
