Production Team Leader - Twinkl Cymru (teachers only)

Location: Remote

Annual Salary: £25,000

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time) including core hours 10-2pm Mon-Fri.

Are you passionate about education in Wales? Twinkl Cymru provides a wide range of English, Welsh and Bilingual resources to support those who teach. We are looking for an organised and dynamic Team Leader to lead our teacher team as well as working on content creation. As a team leader, you will work with team members within the Twinkl Cymru team.

Your role will be to Line Manage the Content Writers and Content Editors, organise team sprints and support them to achieve their goals alongside the other PTL within the team. You will need to plan far ahead and scope projects to meet deadlines. You will also spend time editing or writing for the team. We need someone who faces challenges head on and with a positive attitude. A high level of IT literacy is required.

You will coach and empower your team to be the best they can be, keeping them up to date on the latest guidance, business updates and processes. You will be highly skilled in engagement and communication, delegating when necessary.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Working closely with the Product Owner to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Working closely with the other TL in the team and your PO;
  • Tracking and supporting team member productivity;
  • Monthly reporting on data for your team;
  • Facilitating the organising and running of training opportunities for your team;
  • Day to day troubleshooting with team members;
  • Answering questions and offering support within the team;
  • Hosting stand ups and roadmap meetings;
  • Jira and web/admin support;
  • Onboarding new starters, when necessary;
  • Making contract recommendations to the People Team based on collected evidence of performance;
  • Maintaining high levels of wellbeing support for team members;
  • As well as editing or writing content.

In this role, you will learn:

  • To build on pre-existing line management support provided by previous experienced TLs;
  • How to manage performance;
  • How to run jira/stand ups/reviews/retros etc;
  • How to enable team members to take a problem-solving approach to their work.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be fluent in Welsh and English;
  • Be a qualified teacher with two years full classroom teaching experience in Wales;
  • Have a full understanding of the Curriculum for Wales;
  • Be able to create and maintain a culture of problem solving and positivity;
  • Keep to diary engagements and be flexible with availability to team members;
  • Be inclusive to all team members, encouraging engagement with social events at Twinkl;
  • Encourage engagement and participation by creating activities for the team to be involved in;
  • Create a feeling of safety within the team, so that individuals are open to healthy levels of challenge;
  • Showcase all Twinkl values and portray this when leading your team. A key emphasis on Leading the Way;
  • Inspire, motivate and empower individuals;
  • Have organisational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously;
  • Be adaptable to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic work environment;
  • Be proactive and confident when making decisions that align with the business goals/KPIs;
  • Work SMART and challenge yourself as well as the team to better themselves and maximise morale and output.

  • Writing/editing team

  • Can handle information sensibly and where appropriate sensitively;

  • Experience in leading projects in Twinkl or elsewhere;
