The Program Manager will oversee and coordinate various projects and programs within the Veteran Benefits Administration, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives. This role requires effective leadership, strategic thinking, strong communication (oral and written), and a deep understanding of project and program management methodologies. The Program Manager will work closely with the Chief of Staff and senior executives to ensure successful program delivery and stakeholder satisfaction. This is a hybrid position, allowing for a combination of remote work and on-site presence as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage program plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders, including senior executives and external partners.
- Facilitate regular program status meetings and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
- Identify and mitigate program risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct post-program evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Staff within the Veteran Benefits Administration to align program objectives with organizational goals.
- Demonstrate proficiency in SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) development and business process improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification.
- Strong experience in business communications and working with senior executives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing projects or programs.
- Extensive experience working within Veteran Benefits Administration or a similar government environment.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution.
