Overview

We're looking for a Project Manager for a large telecommunications network operations team. The work entails working with numerous cross functional teams and stakeholders to understand and manage escalations between teams related to network operations and enterprise teams. This role is responsible for hands on development of creating and maintaining relevant processes and procedures to standardize and optimize efficiency. This position requires prior experience in network infrastructure or network operations at a telecommunications service provider or similar capacity. This position is a remote role working with some flexibility to support meetings and activities across all time zones. Qualified candidates must live in the United States and be authorized to work without requiring any visa sponsorship.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitate regular workstream meetings, to ensure cross workstream collaboration.
  • Ensure team(s) maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery
  • Provide visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progress
  • Understand network architecture to identify upstream and downstream dependencies and to support the business in risk management
  • Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required)
  • Utilizes team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and works with team to continuously improve
  • Communicates with leaders across the organization on a regular basis to ensure transparency into delivery, risks, issues, etc.
  • Execute Project Management across multiple workstreams to ensure a cohesive delivery plan is achieved
  • Ensure the respective readiness reviews and tests are coordinated and conducted in a timely manner
  • Support integrated reporting, status, and deliverable tracking across the project
  • Support the administration of Project status meetings and forums, including capturing action items and decisions
  • Establish risk management, escalation paths, and take corrective measurements, supporting issue and risk tracking and mitigation
  • Holds project team accountable for deliverables and commitments.
  • Support Program Manager to summarize workstream status, escalations and next steps

· Utilize PMI PMP methodology

  • Integrate business policies and governance processes into planning and accountability for project roadmaps and strategy
  • Facilitate and lead project meetings and manage stakeholders’ communication
  • Coordinate, manage and monitor the workflow of cross-functional teams
  • Provide and perform quality assurance checks on project artifacts and deliverables.
  • Align deliverables (outputs) to the program/project workstream’s “outcome”
  • Own overall integrated project plan and manage cross-functional resources, ensuring on-time delivery, meeting of budgetary demands, and achievement of business goal

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

Candidates must have strong practical experience in program and/or project management, which was gained through managing large and complex projects. Candidates must have the following:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years strong program/project management experience managing multiple workstreams, ideally within the cable, broadband, phone, or satellite industry
  • Working with Engineering teams or on Network Infrastructure or Operations projects is required (especially in any of the following areas: Cable, Managed Services, RF, WiFi, Wireless, Mobile, Broadband, Video, Voice)
  • Proven knowledge of project and program management methodology
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder, and management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills to stakeholders including the ability to influence, strategize and negotiate
  • Ability to think analytically and process information quickly, presenting it in a succinct and insightful format suitable for executives

Qualifications/Technical Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of program/project management experience using formal project management methodology
  • Minimum of 2+ years as Management or Business Consultant preferred
  • Experience working with PMO stakeholders in engineering, network operations, network infrastructure, and field operations team environments
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills are desired
  • Direct hands-on proficiency with SmartSheet, Jira, PowerPoint and Excel are necessary

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required with a preference in Business, Engineering, IT or Communications
  • PMP certification or similar is preferred
