The Public Affairs Division of the Europe North Area is responsible for managing the Church’s government relations, media relations, interfaith work and reputation management. Through these efforts, the Division builds understanding, strengthens relationships, supports the Church’s mission, and contributes to God’s work of salvation and exaltation. The central work of the Government Relations and Policy Lead is to develop and deliver government relations and public policy engagement for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across the Area. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with government ministers, parliamentarians, and political and civic stakeholders, while helping Church leaders understand and respond to relevant political and policy developments. The Government Relations and Policy Lead will report to the Area Public Affairs Manager. The role will have a primary functional focus on government relations and public policy. As part of the Area Public Affairs team, the post-holder will also be assigned responsibility for country portfolios and strategic projects. These assignments may change over time in response to Area priorities and workload.
