Reporting to the Associate Vice President for NET+, the Program Manager, Unified Communications as a Service, NET+ Cloud Services role is responsible for the ongoing management and stewardship of unified communications as-a-service (UCaaS) offerings within Internet2's cloud services portfolio. The program manager will manage a portfolio of voice, video, and wireless service providers utilized by institutions to enhance their research and educational missions.
Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
● Provide advice and subject matter expertise to the research and education community on the deployment and the use of unified communications services.
● Responsible for the stewardship of services in the portfolio including contract updates, adherence to technical and compliance standards, and vendor management.
● Ongoing engagement of subscribers around individual services.
● Maintain ongoing strong strategic relationships with NET+ service providers.
● Administration of NET+ agreements on behalf of our service subscribers.
● Support service adoption and develops / maintains communities of practice around the services within the UCaaS as a service portfolio.
● Ability to recognize, triage, and troubleshoot pain points in commercial relationships and work to minimize or remediate them.
● Overall budget management of the UCaaS portfolio.
Required Qualifications:
● BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or Related Field, or equivalent experience.
● Minimum 5 years of program, project, or product management experience or equivalent education.
● Minimum 3 years in a management or technical role focused on cloud-based communication technologies, specifically enterprise telephony and communication-enabled business processes.
● Written and oral communication skills – ability to communicate technical concepts to socialize community practices and to encourage member / customer adoption.
● Ability to learn quickly, understand and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the UCaaS/IT space.
● Proven ability to work with virtual teams.
● Experience in cultivating relationships across a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
● Ability to present information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including to executive stakeholders.
● Commitment to building open, diverse, and inclusive communities to facilitate collaboration.
● Competency in office productivity applications; ability to quickly learn new collaboration applications and/or tools.
● Ability to travel to in person team meetings, Internet 2 and higher education conferences is expected.
Preferred Skills:
● Contract negotiation facilitation experience for cloud services/communication technologies with the ability to articulate how you would bring a number of parties together (cloud providers, channel partners, Internet2, universities) to design a higher education-wide agreement structure.
● Experience providing technical support or management of networking services supporting Voice over IP.
● Familiarity with wireless cellular communication and DAS implementation at the enterprise level.
● Prior experience with community or product advocacy.
● 2+ years experience in product or sales engineering and/or strategic partner management experience with UCaaS offerings or similar customer-facing experience with the ability to manage customer relationships up to the senior/executive level.
● 2+ years of experience working with channel partners to deliver services.
● Knowledge of current cloud-based communication trends in research and higher education.
● Experience in a management or leadership level role of information technology at a research or higher education institution.
● Experience with creating technical content, tutorials, and blogs.
● Experience speaking at conferences, developer summits, or virtual events.
● Experience working in or managing software/technical communities.
● Experience teaching, writing, or hosting workshops.

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 annually (B-8).
