The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing workpapers and financial schedules in support of
the SVP of Corporate Finance, Accounting and Treasury, Global Senior Director of Tax and Accounting
Manager. Accounting functions including general ledger account reconciliation, understanding of sales
and use tax, cash forecasting, timely resolution of tax notices, month-end and year-end closing, financial
reporting, process improvement, audit support and team collaboration. This position requires a thorough
understanding of accounting principles and practices, US GAAP, as well as strong analytical and problem-
solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of cash forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making
processes. - Assist with researching and resolving notices from various states.
- Assist with the preparation of sales and use tax schedules and payments.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Record journal entries and adjustments
accurately and timely, as needed. Ensure proper documentation and support for all transactions. - Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities. Assist with the preparation of financial
statements, footnotes and reports as required. Analyze financial data and provide explanations
for variances. - Prepare various financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Assist in the preparation
of regulatory filings and compliance requirements. Ensure financial statements comply with
generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or applicable standards. - Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures. Implement best
practices to streamline workflows and increase efficiency. Participate in system upgrades or
implementations related to the general ledger. - Assist with internal and external audit requests. Provide necessary documentation and
explanations to auditors. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address any findings or
recommendations. - Collaborate with other members of the accounting and finance team. Provide guidance and
support to junior staff members. Communicate effectively with colleagues and management on
financial matters. - Maintain a comprehensive understanding of accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry
best practices. - Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff members.
- Perform analysis and special projects, as required.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing or
technology environment. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions and how they
relate to the General Ledger. - System implementation knowledge
