Job Summary

The Senior Application Engineer will design and build customized water solutions to meet customer needs according to the specifications provided by the Strategic Account Manager (SAM) and/or business unit sales field team. The Senior Application Engineer will work with the SAM, field sales and business unit engineering team leaders to develop technical solutions for broad range of solutions across potable, stormwater and wastewater end markets. Solution Application Engineers proactively engage with their SAM and area sales teams to establish and build relationships with the broad range of company stakeholders and clients to function as a technical resource and to meet the commercial objectives of the water solution business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform as a technical expert on water management system design
  • Provide technical guidance and consultation on design basis of civil related to subsurface and surface-based water and wastewater management systems and the associated regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams developing detailed designs, technical specifications, construction drawings and other design documentation considering key factors such as water quality, flow rate requirements, pressure requirements, and environmental impact requirements
  • Prepare, own, manage and control water management systems such as design requirements and design criteria etc.
  • Prepare various hydraulic/water management models to help propose effective solutions
  • Produce reports, presentations and/or other documents including design reports, design requirements, design criteria, engineering drawings, design descriptions, design manuals, design guides, technical specifications, technical design memorandums, etc. for internal cross-functional organizations as well as external regulatory bodies and public outreach
  • Participate and/or chair meetings with internal groups to ensure engineering technical documentation suite produced internally satisfies all project requirements
  • Interface with internal/ external parties throughout the lifecycle of the projects to provide recommendations on practical and effective solutions to water management decision basis as per applicable laws, regulations, codes, and standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4+ years experience with solid technical background in drainage design, water resources, land development, or similar field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communicator and organized
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the business and achieving organizational goals.
  • Collaborator with ability to share thoughts openly, accept new ideas, and get the job done in a highly interactive process.
  • Travel up to 25% as needed

Preferred Requirements

  • Professional Engineering License
  • Experienced with: AutoCAD, BIM, SWMM, Microsoft Office, HydroCAD
