Overview of Role
66degrees is seeking a senior contractor to engage on a 5-month remote assignment for approximately 40 hours per week with potential to extend. Interested candidates should have the following required skills in Golang and be available to start on the assignment at the end of April.
This contractor will be working on a CockroachDB to Spanner Migration project, inclusive of application development for additional data connections and configuring/migrating the data to Google Cloud Spanner.
Requirements
- Ability to work 40 hours a week for a 5-month contract without disruption
- 5-8 years of experience in developing cloud-native applications
- 5 years of recent and hands-on Golang experience
- Cloud experience is required (GCP/AWS/Azure); Recent experience with GCP is preferred and considered precedent however not a disqualifier
- Experience in backend development (familiarity and exposure with full stack development is desired but not required.)
- Proven ability to write Unit tests, uncover and fix bugs, crashes, and other issues, in order to ensure a robust app
- Experience working in a highly automated agile environment where changes are pushed
- Familiar with the scrum process and Git
- Strong communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with CockroachDB and CloudSpanner is ideal
- Experience with Gorilla/Mux
