    About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of a U.S.-based company in the real estate and development industry.

This is a hands-on accounting role for someone who can independently manage day-to-day bookkeeping processes, maintain accurate financial records, perform reconciliations, properly code and categorize transactions, and prepare recurring financial reports.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of accounting processes with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Accounting: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records.

Account Reconciliations: Perform bank, credit card, and other balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

Transaction Coding: Review, categorize, and properly code transactions in QuickBooks, ensuring expenses and financial activity are recorded accurately.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain recurring weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and other management reports as needed.

Month-End Close: Support and/or independently manage month-end accounting processes, including journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reviews.

AP & AR: Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoices, payments, collections, and vendor-related transactions.

Financial Analysis: Review financial information for inconsistencies, unusual transactions, or variances and communicate findings when necessary.

Accounting Organization: Maintain organized accounting records, supporting documentation, and financial files.

Process Ownership: Take ownership of assigned accounting processes, proactively follow up on missing information, and ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are met.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, accuracy, and efficiency.

    Requirements

    Requirements:

    5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience.

    • Previous accounting experience within Real Estate, Property Management, Real Estate Development, or Construction is strongly preferred.

    • Experience supporting U.S.-based companies or clients is strongly preferred.

    • Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.

    • Strong experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations.

    • Experience with transaction coding and account categorization.

    • Experience preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.

    • Solid understanding of General Ledger accounting, journal entries, AP/AR, and month-end processes.

    • Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies independently.

    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of accounting processes and work with minimal supervision.

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
