This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, however there will be occasional travel (on the road) with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Officer to review and maintain operational processes, ensuring that our pharmacy partners comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including those set by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and state pharmacy boards. The ideal candidate is an exceptionally organised and methodical professional, who has the experience necessary to take this function to a level commensurate with an industry leading organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Training: Develop and conduct training programs for pharmacy staff on regulatory requirements, company policies, and best practices.

  • Continuous Education: Keep pharmacy staff updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting pharmacy operations.

  • Identify Risks: Identify potential compliance risks within the pharmacy operations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Incident Follow-Up: Investigate any compliance breaches or issues, documenting findings and corrective actions.
  • Liaison with Regulatory Bodies: Act as the point of contact between the pharmacy and regulatory agencies.
  • Internal Coordination: Work closely with other departments (e.g., procurement, inventory management, patient services) to ensure compliance across all pharmacy operations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, training sessions, and audit results.
  • Support the Head of Compliance and Assurance by
    • Actively assist in identifying any compliance incidents or gaps occurring within your portfolio and initiate corrective and preventative actions as required
    • Draft, review and update policies, procedures and other documents as required.
    • Preparing written correspondence such as letters and reports regarding compliance activities, associated recommendations and follow up actions as required.
    • Engage in capability building activities, designed to build understanding and application of of the regulatory/compliance framework in which Montu operates, including through education
    • Coordinate and drive agreed compliance projects

Qualifications

  • Prior experience 5+ years in a similar role in a compliance role in a complex regulatory setting.
  • Experience in the Injury Management or WH&S or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in internal auditing and CAPA processes
  • Nice to have - Understanding the National Strategy for Quality Use of Medicines policy - quality, safety and and efficacy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with other teams across the organsiation.
  • Highly developed planning and work organisation skills to manage competing priorities and respond to emerging needs.
