Job Summary:
The Senior Data Warehouse Specialist / ETL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data pipelines, data warehouses, and data integration solutions to support analytics, reporting, and decision-making across large-scale systems. This position supports an upcoming project with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This role ensures high-quality, secure, and performant data processing aligned with federal standards, data governance policies, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data integration from multiple source systems
Build and enhance data warehouses, data marts, and analytics platforms
Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading to ensure data quality and accuracy
Optimize SQL queries, ETL jobs, and data processing performance
Support data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and metadata management
Develop and maintain data integration workflows and automation processes
Conduct data profiling, validation, and testing (unit, integration, performance, data quality)
Collaborate with data architects, BI developers, business analysts, and QA teams
Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes/enhancements
Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and federal regulations (FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP)
Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and knowledge transfer activities
Provide technical leadership and enforce best practices
Skills Required:- Strong expertise in ETL/ELT tools (Databricks, DataStage, SSIS, AWS Glue, etc.)
Advanced proficiency in SQL and database development
Experience with data warehouse architecture and data modeling
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Databricks, Redshift, S3)
Knowledge of database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
Familiarity with job scheduling tools (Control-M or equivalent)
Experience in data quality, governance, and metadata management
Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices
Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and analytical skills
Knowledge of federal security and compliance standards (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
