  • Work in tandem with infrastructure teams to improve the resiliency and scalability of database systems.
  • Design, implement and administer new database solutions.
  • Ensure data security and integrity through the implementation of access controls and backup/recovery plans.
  • Handle performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience.
  • Strong knowledge of either MySQL/MariaDB or PostgreSQL (and at least good familiarity with the other – you will be administering both).
  • Familiarity with clustered database deployments.
  • Strong knowledge of data & schema standards, database design, SQL, data management, and incremental backup & restoration best practices.
  • Must be comfortable with self-hosted and cloud-managed databases (AWS RDS experience strongly preferred).
  • Comfortable with Linux/Unix.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
