Job Description

About Swirlds Labs:

We are a fast-growing company built around a revolutionary technology — the hashgraph consensus algorithm. Hedera Hashgraph is well-suited to become the world’s first mass-adopted distributed public ledger because it is blazing fast, highly secure, and ensures fairness. We are on a mission to create a trusted and empowered digital future for everyone; a cyberspace where you work, play, buy, sell, create, and engage socially; where you have safety and privacy in your digital communities; where you feel confident when interacting with others; where you own and control your information. Join us and say, “Hello future.”

About the role:

Swirlds Labs DevOps team is looking for an engineer to support operations of the consensus nodes in the Hedera testnet, previewnet, and preproduction environments. As a web3 product, these present unique operational challenges to availability, scalability, and change management in a computationally diverse environment.

You may find yourself doing all of the following:

  • We are looking for a talented operations engineer to build automation to not only reduce toil work, improve configuration management processes, and improve infrastructure as code, but also liaise with the operations of the members of the Hedera Governing Council
  • In this role, you will largely be building such infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) via Terraform and automating preproduction and release workflows via Ansible and Jenkins, as well as supporting 24/7 operational needs, including on-call incident response in support of the Hedera network

Qualification Requirements:

  • B.S in computer science or similar
  • At least Five years of DevOps or software development experience
  • At least three years of experience in running AWS / GCP / Azure cloud workloads
  • At least three years of experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Ansible
  • Deep familiarity with operating and troubleshooting issues in a Linux environment
  • Deep familiarity with git
  • Deep familiarity with DevOps and software development lifecycle best practices
  • Familiarity with Jenkins Pipelines
  • Good written communication skills
  • Comfortable and capable of productively working in a fully remote, no-office environment with a fully remote team on the same continent

Other skills that are great to bring with you but that we can help you develop:

  • LGTM stack
  • golang
  • Python
  • Bash
  • Github
  • Github Actions
