About This Role:

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Director, Marketing (Sleep) that will be responsible for leading, developing and executing marketing strategy and tactics for SUNOSI and AXS-12 Narcolepsy. The Senior Director, Marketing will lead the development and execution of marketing initiatives in line with asset strategies and objectives. This role will collaborate cross functionally with Sales, Market Access, Data & Market Analytics, as well as other internal and external partners.

This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.

Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the in-line brand of SUNOSI including the integrated brand plan, create programs and tactics to support the strategy, and execute the tactical marketing plans on HCP audiences
  • Lead the development of the marketing plans for AXS-12 Narcolepsy and champion the plan through engagement with internal and external partners
  • Identify appropriate measurements & ROI, and develop comprehensive reporting to evaluate effectiveness of tactical efforts
  • Oversee key agency relationships, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and efficient budget utilization.
  • Lead reviews of promotional materials with Regulatory/Legal/Medical
  • Partner effectively with sales, market access, market research, medical affairs, commercial operations, data & analytics, finance, and other cross-functional partners
  • Identify strategic market opportunities and make recommendations to enhance brand performance
  • Efficiently manage budgets and timelines according to the brand plan, ensuring timely delivery of marketing initiatives.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake additional tasks as required, contributing to the team’s success.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • BA or BS; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • At least 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology marketing, with a significant portion (5-7 years) dedicated to executing successful HCP facing marketing campaigns
  • Previous involvement with CNS disorders or product launches in this domain is highly preferred
  • Ability to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Strong project and process management skills, including competency in agency management and budget management
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing successful multichannel campaigns
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Strong digital marketing aptitude

Salary and Benefits:

The anticipated salary range for this role is $225,000 - $255,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
