💧 About Pallon

At Pallon, a spin-off from ETH Zurich, we’re creating AI that automatically detects defects in sewer inspection videos and advises cities on when & how to fix them. By providing more precise, objective data, we aim to fix wastewater leaks, reduce CO2 emissions, and prevent urban flooding. Our mission is to make cities more sustainable and resilient.

💪 Your role

• Conduct cutting-edge research on scene understanding (object detection, image segmentation, 3D reconstruction, SLAM, etc.) to build predictive maintenance products.

• Take the lead in planning both research and engineering projects that solve high-level business problems.

• Craft well-designed and maintainable software that is ready for production.

• Actively contribute to our research processes, software architecture, and code quality.

• Share your expertise with the team and help your peers grow as engineers.

🚀 Our tech stack

Note: we do not require experience in these exact technologies

• Deep Learning: Python, Pytorch.

• Computer Vision: C++, OpenCV, Ceres, Eigen.

• Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker.

🎯 Requirements

• Either: PhD related to Machine Learning or Computer Vision with publications at well-known conferences.

• Or: 5+ years of industry experience building Machine Learning products from experiment to production and degree in Computer Science, Maths, or similar.

• Collaborative communication skills, creating an environment of mutual learning and teaching.

• Independent way of working & knowing when to ask questions

• Experienced with software engineering on real-world codebases as part of a team.

• Optional: Experience in project management or team leadership.
