Summary/objective

The Portfolio Marketing Manager serves as the strategic and tactical advisor to the portfolio of Energy Efficiency Programs. This position will set and manage the efficacy of the portfolio of program’s marketing plans, strategies, partnerships, vendors, and campaigns.

  • Holds accountability for achieving marketing results for contracted work serving specific clients, with an emphasis on internal and external client service
  • Works directly with program managers, staff, clients, and utility representatives to develop marketing strategies and tactics that deliver to program and client goals
  • Leads and holds accountability for the overall marketing performance to goal for the programs and initiatives
  • Serves as primary client-facing marketing leader for assigned accounts or area
  • Collaborates with clients, market strategists and other internal experts to develop marketing plans and promotional strategies that drive program participation, pipeline, and program targets
  • Oversees the deployment of marketing campaigns in coordination with internal creative and delivery staff and external advertising agencies
  • Initiates campaigns and tactics with the marketing project management system, prepare campaign strategy briefs and work with the marketing delivery and operations team to enter and manage creative requests so that campaigns are delivered on-time, on strategy and on quality
  • Facilitates the workflow and approval of marketing materials from multiple internal and subcontractor/partner venders
  • Works with program management and finance to develop, maintain and manage to marketing budgets
  • Develops, manages, and utilizes plan to goal tools to ensure efforts are on track
  • Reviews, analyzes and communicates results of marketing promotions to determine level of success for each effort and identify areas to improve and innovate for your programs and clients
  • Uses data and analysis to improve the success rate of marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Mentors and coaches developing marketing leaders on the client marketing, marketing strategy, marketing delivery and / or creative services team as integral part of this role
  • Actively participates in driving marketing thought leadership across the company, in collaboration with other marketing and company functions
  • Manages direct reports and oversee department staff
  • Performs other tasks as determined and assigned

Supervisory responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for managing all marketing/outreach subcontractors within the portfolio and maximizing efficiency and effectiveness of our subcontractors.

Work environment

This position is remote, with occasional travel to meet organizational and client needs.

Physical demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience energy program experience
  • Minimum of 5 years client management experience required
  • Prior experience managing subcontractors and marketing/communications budgets
  • Background Check Required; Valid Driver’s License
