Job Description

Sourcebooks Fire, the #1 fastest growing YA imprint, is seeking someone with 4-7 years of YA publicity experience, to join their deeply collaborative publicity and marketing team. At Sourcebooks, the largest woman-founded book publisher in the U.S., you'll get to work with New York Times bestselling authors like Beth Revis, Sara Raasch, Laura Nowlin, Rachel Griffin, and K. L Walther while also having the opportunity to launch the careers of exciting debut authors.

This position can work out of our NYC or Naperville office or be fully remote in the following states ONLY: AZ, CT, MD, MN, NC, NJ, NY, NV, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, AND WI. There will be occasional travel for YA festivals, select trade shows, and company meetings.

In this role, you’ll lead publicity strategy for the entire Fire list, which includes securing top-tier media coverage for both frontlist and top-selling backlist titles. You'll coordinate author tours, events, and major conventions and festivals, while building strong relationships with media contacts. We’re looking for a seasoned professional with a proven track record of executing successful publicity campaigns and maintaining robust YA media connections.

Senior Publicist Responsibilities:
  • Secure and coordinate national and trade media coverage, including reviews, features, and major media campaigns for YA titles.
  • Manage author event logistics, including travel, festival appearances, and virtual/in-person events, while coordinating with the director on convention planning and brand presence.
  • Serve as the primary in-house contact for select title marketing (20-25 titles annually), managing communication with authors, and overseeing promotional materials, preorder campaigns, and sales conference presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, editorial, and creative services to align on campaign goals and cross-imprint opportunities.
  • Attend and work industry shows/meetings to build relationships and recognition, as needed
  • Travel to major YA festivals where Sourcebooks Fire has a booth/staff attending
Minimum Requirements:
  • 4+ years of book publicity experience, specifically YA/children’s preferred.
  • Able to keep up with fast-paced and detailed publishing schedule with a high level of agility, creativity, and growth mindset.
  • Communication skills; must have strong promotional writing skills both consumer-facing and B2B to craft press releases, pitches, and marketing copy.
  • Strong verbal communication, able to effectively pitch and present books in-person and virtually to internal, external, consumers, and professional/trade audiences.
  • Proficient with Cision, Muck Rack, and Canva or similar design programs
  • Ability to travel at least 3 weekends a year to attend trade shows/festivals.
