About the Role:
Zero Hash seeks an experienced and passionate IT/Security Leader to join our team. In this role, your passion for IT/Security engineering and operations will be used to continue to improve the process and operational capabilities of security for our infrastructure and development, as well as collaborate across the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer, this role involves ensuring the effective and efficient architecture of Zero Hash's products, refining and implementing processes, fostering cross-team and cross-discipline collaboration, maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and supervising staff. This leadership role will have high visibility and direct responsibility for these activities.
Responsibilities:
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
- Lead a collaborative, service-oriented IT/Security department that guides Zero Hash’s technology matters, enabling a distributed global workforce to work efficiently.
- Manage a team of 5-6 technology professionals, including mentoring, professional development, job supervision, and performance evaluation.
- Build trust, identify goals and pain points, and implement technology and IT operations solutions that will address the Zero Hash’s unique needs.
- Manage risk, user accessibility and administrative privileges, and maintain the highest levels of cybersecurity.
- Oversee the assessment of product security risks, vulnerabilities, and threats. Develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Ensure effective onboarding and offboarding of employees and contractors.
- Provide best practice customer service to all users, such as monitoring and responding quickly and effectively to user requests or incidents.
- Develop and maintain requirements and standards for capabilities that support security operations, threat detection, intelligence, and incident response functions.
- Architect, design, and implement security solutions, tools, and services to protect Zero Hash’s cloud network environment in collaboration with the Zero Hash Technical Engineering teams.
- May require work nights, weekends, or holidays on a rotational basis with the rest of the team to ensure 24x7 coverage.
- Ensure compliance with industry security standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO, SOC 2, NYDFS, etc.)
- Supports our CISO in additional projects, as needed
About you:
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
- 5+ years' experience in an IT, security, or engineering leadership role at firms with 200+ employees preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience managing a team of IT/Security professionals
- Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, vet, select, configure, deploy, and drive adoption of and effective use of new systems/platforms.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to manage priorities and resources, including using one's own time and skills to ensure end-user needs are met
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to details.
- In-depth knowledge of macOS and broad knowledge of productivity, collaboration and communication tools.
- Familiarity with the following Technologies: Identity management, Endpoint Detection and Response, Anti-Virus, VPN, Zero Trust, Network protocols, Linux, Phishing email mitigation/response.
- Experience working with AWS services and tools such as ECR, EKS, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, SecurityHub, GuardDuty, Inspector, Shield, WAF, Secrets Manager, and Lambda.
- Deep understanding of cloud security, application security, and secure software development practices.
- Experience leading design and security reviews of cloud-based systems.
- Ability to work closely with software, infrastructure, and cloud engineers.
- Software development experience is a plus.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, GIAC, or CSSLP are a plus.
