Nos équipes de création travaillent actuellement sur plusieurs titres passionnants : Gemini est notre nouveau projet mené en collaboration avec Square Enix; Maverick est un jeu AAA développé en collaboration avec Microsoft; Bifrost, Victoria et Dagger sont des projets que nous réalisons selon un modèle d’auto-édition. People Can Fly is one of the leading independent AAA games development studios with an international team of hundreds of talented individuals working from offices located in Poland, UK, US, and Canada, and from all over the world thanks to our remote work programs.

Founded in 2002, we made our mark on the shooter genre with titles such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, and Outriders. We are one of the most experienced Unreal Engine studios in the industry and we are expanding it with in-house solutions called PCF Framework.

Our creative teams are currently working on several exciting titles: Gemini is our new project being developed with Square Enix; Bifrost, Victoria and Dagger are projects we're growing in the self-publishing model. We also have one project in the concept phase – Red; as well as two projects in VR technology – Green Hell VR and Thunder - a new project based on one of the IPs from the Group’s portfolio.

Project Bifrost is a yet unannounced AAA action-adventure game developed by our North American team supported by PCF’s European studios.

Job Description

  • Create, maintain & evolve game systems.
  • Support principal system designer in upholding system design philosophy on project.
  • Support Lead system designer with creating a great environment for the system design team on project.
  • Define the metrics which allow balancing and tuning of game systems.
  • Build tools and models to support creation and maintaining of game system.
  • Be representative of system design thinking and system design requirements on the project
  • Constantly test theories, iterate on ideas and challenge assumptions.
  • Create designs documents, content briefs, system outlines, and other means of sharing all the necessary information with involved teams.
  • Attend playtests and be solution-oriented to the problem encountered.
  • Capable of providing system design support that benefits more than the current project they are actively assigned to.
  • Occasionally, if needed, may step in place of system design lead

Qualifications

  • Typically 6+ years of experience in the production of games for consoles and PC in system design roles.
  • Typically at least one shipped AAA title with Game design role credits.
  • Track record in at least two game systems (spawning, economy, progression).
  • Understand the basics of all important game systems and their dependencies.
  • Have a very strong understanding of system interactions, consequences of specific implementation and scalability of systems.
  • Unreal Engine Editor working proficiency.
  • Strong analytical and formal thinking, able to break problems down in their key variables and identify the relations between them.
  • Understanding of mathematical modeling in game design and what the numbers mean in practice.
  • Ability to conceptualize, pitch, and implement game systems and features using various tools, technology, and visual language.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and align design vision with internal partners and the target audience.
  • Deep understanding of systems design, player psychology, and emerging industry trends.
  • Great understanding of creative and game development processes.
  • Good Unreal 4 or 5 experience
  • Self-motivation.
  • Good mentoring skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

  • Previously shipped action RPG, Shooter or similar
  • Background mathematics, economics, statistics or other technical fields that can project into work with systems
  • Strong presentation and explanation skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Scripting experience
  • Interested in social sciences and human psychology, especially considering player motivation and group behaviors
  • Bachelor’s degree in game design or any related field
