About the Role
While Thumbtack is focused on building a world-class marketplace connecting customers and pros, the Technical Recruiting team enables the business to achieve its mission by attracting, selecting, and hiring highly qualified technical talent. As the expert in this space, having made an impact as a full-cycle Recruiter in a highly competitive tech-led organization, you will have the opportunity not just to hire top talent into unique roles, but also to make a significant contribution to the continuous improvement of the art and craft of Recruiting at Thumbtack. Because each of us contribute to a very high bar for excellence, you will have the opportunity to bring and display your unique best practices at all stages of the recruiting cycle, and a particular passion for partnering with, and closing, candidates actively in the process. As an integral part of the team, you are motivated to set a new standard for recruiting at Thumbtack and mentor others to match your performance.
Responsibilities
- Attraction: You will leverage and implement highly effective techniques and tools to uncover talent who will deliver results, become culture builders, and increase talent density within the Engineering organization.
- Selection: As the key holder to the front door of Thumbtack, you will take ownership of the process by which talent is assessed ensuring that equal opportunities exist to get hired. You will hold the bar high for the business and ensure they thoughtfully understand and define their hiring needs, effectively identify skills/traits/experiences that will fulfill them, and fairly assess all candidates with whom they meet.
- Hire: To win, we must be masters of the art of negotiation. With pay-equity in mind, you will partner with Compensation and Hiring Managers to propose the most reasonable and competitive offer, and sell it because you believe in it, while treating company resources as your own.
- Operational Excellence: Whether Thumbtack prevails or fails, endures or dies, depends entirely on how well we hire. As a master of your craft, and as a lifelong learner, you will proactively contribute to improving how well we hire by implementing new ideas, best practices, and most of importantly, by influencing the business to set a gold-standard for hiring.
What you’ll need

Experience:
- At least 5 years as a full-cycle recruiter in an organization in which hiring is a critical company strategy.
- Demonstrated experience successfully identifying, selecting, and hiring highly competitive technical talent.
- A proven track record of delivering results against hiring goals.
Skills:
- Mastery in the art of negotiation and closing talent.
- Trust-earning approach which has enabled you to influence partners.
Traits:

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $149,000 - $183,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $127,400 - $156,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
