At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

A Senior UX Engineer with a solid foundation in design and UX/UI who enjoys taking the lead and working directly with the design system and app designers to help build sophisticated design system components and dynamic web applications using standards based HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and React. This position is focused on front-end UX/UI design and integration, helping to bridge UX best methods and production execution. You'll need to be well versed in responsive CSS/HTML/JavaScript/React webpage design and implementation across all modern browsers. Our development teams will handle all the backend integration, but you'll need to be familiar with the design and UI side of dynamic web apps. A Successful UX Engineer, you should be passionate about delighting the user and be proficient in every aspect of building design system components or dynamic web apps.To be successful as a UX Engineer, you should be passionate about user satisfaction and be competent in every aspect of building a website.

What you'll get to do...

  • You are as passionate about UX as you are about code.
  • Advise, collaborate with, and synthesize feedback from UX designers and researchers.
  • You sweat the details – sometimes it is the little things that make or break a user’s experience and you do not stop until a feature is complete, polished, and ready to ship.
  • You like to work collaboratively. Work closely with UX designers, project managers, and software engineers to implement versatile front-end solutions to web development problems.
  • Able to tackle difficult software and UX problems with ambiguity. Pushes for information to avoid solving the wrong problem and mitigate UI risks early in the process. Can decompose a problem into clear software and UX design actions.
  • Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes using the latest in front-end technologies
  • Explore product concepts to find promising directions that address both human and business needs.
  • Manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • You have a solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JS concepts.

Your experience should include...

  • Experience writing technical documents for preliminary component creation in English
  • Experience in React
  • Experience in development or prototyping.
  • Experience using Sketch, Figma, Illustrator and or other design software.
  • 5+ years of relevant full-time software and/or UX engineering experience.
  • JavaScript and experience building performant front-end systems.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub.
  • A passion for quality, great UX, attention to detail, and an empathy for customer experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical, UX, design environment, or similar.
  • Experience in designing and implementing user interfaces (UIs).
  • Experience in or with design systems.
  • Experience with appealing visuals and thoughtful, extensible code.
  • Write technical documents for preliminary component creation in English.
  • Understands how to optimize the delivery of code and assets (e.g., images, fonts) to a browser or device (e.g., lazy loading assets, using CDNs, caching, compression, etc.).

You might also have...

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development and JIRA
  • Excellent ability to tackle problems across domains, skills, and technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to be able to convey technical issues and details to non-technical users.
