Odds Scanner is bringing on a freelance German-language Content Writer/Editor to anchor our betting tips coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026. You'll write previews and predictions, edit contributions from other writers, and help our Italian audience navigate every stage of the tournament. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes soccer, has iGaming content chops, and can keep pace with a fast editorial cycle through July.
responsibilities
Write and edit betting tips, match previews, predictions, and tournament analysis in French for the FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage cycle
Produce daily/match-day content: previews, value bet picks, accumulators, prop suggestions, group-stage and knockout-round analysis
Edit and quality-check content from other French-language contributors, ensuring tone, accuracy, and brand voice consistency
Follow internal SEO content guidelines: on-page structure, content briefs, internal linking
Verify factual accuracy on teams, lineups, form, injuries, and tournament context up to publication time
Maintain a high publishing cadence aligned with the tournament calendar
requirements
German as mother tongue
Deep knowledge of football: Serie A, European club competitions, international football, World Cup format and history
3+ years writing and/or editing betting content in the German iGaming market
Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals (briefs, on-page components, internal linking, keyword targeting for match-related queries)
Familiarity with the German betting market
Comfortable working under tight deadlines during a live tournament
Nice to have: Working knowledge of other sports (tennis, basketball, F1, etc.)
Prior editor-level experience reviewing other writers' output
Experience with ClickUp and editorial workflow tools
