Job Description:

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2300 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub.. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

Hitachi Energy Service is looking for a Market Analyst who will serve as a strategic business developer to reshape the way we quantify, evaluate, and estimate the market size for lifecycle services. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Service Strategy & Portfolio Management.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Service market model – quantitative model Hitachi Energy Service market to account Classic/Transactional services on HE and Other-OEM equipment, IoT-based / connect-asset driven advanced services, fully-Servitized (CAPEX to OPEX) T&D market, over next decade

  • Service Target Market – translate market-sizing into target-market definitions for relevant customer segments (e.g., utilities, new growth segments, etc.), identifying service value-pools along with current equipment delivery, and future installed base-related service activity

  • Service value creation – stipulate enhancement opportunities (e.g., through digital) over the lifecycle by analyzing the cost incurred by customers, and customer-spend across asset lifecycle, e.g., on AC substation equipment from the plan, build, operate & maintain phase; Sizing impact of maintenance methodologies (TBM, RBM…) on total value of ownership

  • Service Competitive Intelligence – constantly monitor market activity for the evolution of the service competitive landscape (e.g., PE-buyouts) building a comprehensive model for global service market-shares

  • Growth Plans / Account Mgmt. – Complement key Marketing & Sales processes by introducing Service drivers for Market and Demand estimations, Service Target market, and Service Account Growth Planning

  • Service thought leadership – proactively challenge product mgmt. & organization to develop a service mindset, by converting quantitative models into strategic documents for communication & thought leadership

  • Design-for-Serviceability – leverage holistic model factoring in CAPEX and OPEX costs (incl. periodicity & intensity of lifecycle events) to guide serviceability-linked design.

Your Background:

  • Bachelors/Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics); Master of Business Administration (MBA) is highly preferred.

  • 2+ years' experience with a management consulting firm, investment bank, or similar

  • 5+ years' experience in B2B industry; ideally with a Service-based organization

  • Strong knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Native-like command in English: this is a global role demanding senior stakeholder engagement (S/VP-level)
