Job Description

Abnormal Security is looking for an enthusiastic and driven junior software engineer to join the Email Productivity (EPR) team. The EPR team is responsible for engineering and managing all facets of the Email Productivity product, a key product which drives a significant portion of Abnormal's revenue. As a pivotal member of the team, you will be involved in every critical aspect of the Email Productivity product, from managing its underlying infrastructure to creating intuitive customer-centric components. What you will do

  • Work with other software engineers in the team to develop robust and scalable features
  • Assume ownership of the reliability of the features you develop, including comprehensive unit tests and rigorous integration testing
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide technical support to effectively troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
  • Communicate effectively with the team in an async manner. Display a strong sense of initiative and ownership in providing updates, discussing challenges and proposing solutions without prompting
  • Demonstrate a high degree of enthusiasm and strong desire to learn, with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts

Must Haves

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
  • 2+ years of experience as a backend engineer, developing web applications.
  • Experience working individually as well as in groups on a regular basis, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
  • Experience participating in hackathons, innovation challenges or building out personal projects

Nice to Have

  • Experience with our stack: Python, Go, AWS, K8s, Django, Spark, Prometheus
  • Experience building a feature or component from scratch
