The VMware Solutions Architect is the front-line expert at working with Rackspace’s customers, sales teams, solutions engineers, and product development/management groups. The candidate that will fit best into a VMware Solutions Architect role will have extensive experience in the design and development of business applications and VMware solutions. The Solutions Architect will design futuristic solutions with currently available technology and take responsibility for the quality of the solution. The VMware Solutions Architect will work with Rackspace’s sales teams to understand the customers’ business and technical objectives and then design solutions that leverage existing supported VMware technologies. Where existing solutions do not exist, the Solutions Architect will work with product management and product engineering to help implement new standards and new processes that allows Rackspace to solve for the customer’s needs.

·Requires 5+ years of solution architecture experience or specialty domain experience with a proven track record.
·Have a strong understanding and experience with VMware SDDC, vSAN, VNX, vSphere, SRM, Tanzu, HCX, vRealize and other VMware technologies.
·Experience with Hyperscaler VMware offerings such as VMC, GCVE, or AVS is ideal.
·Strong understanding of architectural frameworks, DevOps concepts for CI/CD, configuration management, orchestration, etc.
·Any of the following industry certifications are a plus: VCP, VCAP, or VCDX for DCV or CMA, RHCSA, RHCE, MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, CCNA, CKA, CKAD, OpenStack.
·Ability to travel approximately 15-50%.
