Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Perform project cost tracking, analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for construction projects.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures specific to the construction industry.
- Work closely with project managers and operations teams to monitor project financial performance.
- Utilize Sage 300 (Timberline) software for financial data management, reporting, and analysis.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry or with a General Contractor (GC).
- Proficiency in Sage 300 (Timberline) software is required.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project management.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other accounting software.
