About the Role:

Reporting to the VP, Enterprise Analytics, the Senior Director of Enterprise Analytics oversees the day-to-day leadership and management of a growing Analytics practice. Analytics is a critical part of our business. Cars Commerce properties derive data from a marketplace with 28M unique visitors each month, 6,000+ dealer websites and several software properties.

Analytics at Cars Commerce is highly cross-functional. You will have the opportunity to work closely with peers from Product, Marketing, Sales, Technology, and Finance and leverage insights and recommendations that help shape our strategy and outreach to both our customers and consumers. In addition, we interact with OEMs, dealers and lenders and have an opportunity to bring deeper insights related to value delivery and value attribution to our partners based on the signals we get from our large in-market audience.

The primary focus of this role is to help support the VP’s vision in building a team and processes that will allow the company to better leverage data and insights across the business - internally and externally. We expect this senior leader to help evangelize data and data access broadly across the Company and to take responsibility for developing and implementing strategies for data-driven decision-making and data literacy across the Company. This is a high visibility role requiring a high degree of cross-functional work and communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the expansion of Cars Commerce’s enterprise analytics function and develop processes and relationships across the organization to elevate analytics and data-driven decision making beyond reporting
  • Develop, implement and maintain analytics enterprise analytics roadmap together with VP and business peers
  • Enhance analysis and unlock innovative insights that showcase overall market competitiveness and differentiation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize opportunities and initiatives that will drive business growth and profitability
  • Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert on data analytics, providing insights and recommendations to key stakeholders across the organization
  • Foster a culture of “data as an asset” to make information decisions that improve business outcomes
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics across the Company, and in advance of new product launches, to measure performance and impact, and track to performance against these targets
  • Responsible for customer value delivery reporting
  • Develop analytics talent agenda for the organization

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data analytics and statistics
  • Ability and willingness to manage ambiguity i.e., help shape the solutions to the Company’s biggest challenges
  • High degree of fluency with large data sets, advanced analytical tools, and problem-solving approaches as well as the ability to think through the abstract
  • A passion for solving complex data challenges and questions in a constantly innovating, fast-paced, and collaborative environment
  • Strong ability to drive analyses that decompose drivers of business performance across various dimensions: customer segment, product, consumer segment, etc.
  • Experience with modern data & analytics tool sets and experience in migrating data and analytics platforms
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong track record of delivering results and are able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities with various business stakeholders
  • Experience in leading a team of analysts and a desire to foster an environment of continuous learning and mentorship
  • Approx. 10-20% travel required
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, economics, data science, or engineering; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position which is not inclusive of bonuses, benefits or other forms of compensation that the position may be eligible for. If you are hired at Cars Commerce, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills and/or experience. Salary Range$170,800—$213,500 USD
