The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated Sr. Director, Global Commercial Sales to provide leadership in obtaining maximum sales revenues and the attainment of corporate objectives.

The Sr. Director will serve as a key member of the Senior Executive team, interacting with the team to ensure business objectives are aligned and that the company is performing to operational objectives. They will lead the work of functional area(s) through subordinate directors and/or directors and assist executives in defining organizational goals and strategic plans.

This role will be a full-time virtual/remote position. You will have the opportunity to assign sales territories, train staff, set quotas, and allocate resources to ensure revenue targets are met. What we’re looking for:

  • Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Business Management preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Sales Management role leading direct sales organization.
  • Experience in leading significant global key accounts.
  • Experience using CRM tools.
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of business acumen.

How you will thrive and create an impact:

  • Manage several teams led by Directors, Managers, and/or Supervisors.
  • Drive revenue growth through organizational alignment to win and close customer-based projects.
  • Develop and direct implementation of sales plans and budgets aligned with organization’s objectives.
  • Develop and nurture business relationships with executives at Key Accounts and Key Development Accounts reaching decision makers and understanding what drives decisions.
  • Responsible for negotiating customer/supply contracts, either personally or by leading and coaching the team, which maximize results for NuSil and value for the customer.
  • Coach and mentor the commercial organization ensuring appropriate levels of skills, capabilities, and accountability.
  • Recruit and hire professionals for roles within the commercial organization.
  • Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies, with the support of the marketing communications team.
  • Communicate relevant customer and market information cross functionally within the organization.
  • Implement tools to empower the commercial team’s efficient performance.
  • Provide leadership and direction for significant events that may impact compliance status or significant business risk.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to establish sales training plan focused on developing and reinforcing critical sales competencies.
  • Work with Human Resources to design and implement sales incentive compensation programs that provide market-competitive pay and align with business and sales organization objectives.
