JOB SUMMARY

A successful Field Application Engineering (FAE) Manager in Silvaco has domain expertise in merits of software modeling, software simulation and technologies in semiconductor and photonics markets. Understanding customer needs to replace costly prototyping vs modeling and simulation in market segments such as displays, power semiconductors, IC design, and manufacturing are key factors for success in this role at Silvaco.

The FAE manager is responsible for determining customer needs, and potential new applications of Silvaco software, models, and semiconductor IP. The FAE manager in working with the sales team and R&D team to set FAE team’s priorities, to help close deal opportunities. The FAE manager with be the catalyst in three sales process focus areas, namely: maintaining existing accounts by providing extraordinary support, expanding in the existing accounts by understanding and being knowledgeable about the customer applications, and landing of new opportunities where customers are identified but require domain knowledge of how Silvaco products can be utilized to their benefit and help justify return-on-investment at the customers.

As a technical expert, the FAE manager exhibits technical knowledge of Silvaco product offerings and expertise in the product workflow and objectives for creation of ASICs, photonics devices such as displays, sensors, and SoCs to advise customers in their modeling, and simulation efforts and address their technical obstacles. In so doing, they work as a partner to the sales teams to understand technical values and tradeoffs to our solutions as perceived by the customer and help determine account strategy for continued growth.

The FAE manager, and the FAE team, works closely with key customers to:

  • Gain insight into customer technical roadmaps and immediate challenges and recommend solutions in line with Silvaco capabilities and offerings. Here you need to be an out-of-the box thinking for landing and expanding accounts.
  • Understand customers’ success criteria and jointly implement evaluation plans to demonstrate and validate Silvaco’s solution.
  • Provide training and instructions to customers to reduce their friction in adopting and using Silvaco tools while gaining additional understanding of the customers’ application.
  • Collaborates with customers’ implementation teams to troubleshoot problems, develop solutions, and propose additional features, modules, and/or products based on customers’ requirements.

FAE managers play key roles in Silvaco’s account strategies ,planning, collaborating ,providing input to sales plans and enhancing Silvaco’s differentiable technical positioning as applicable to the customers' workflow

  • Documenting evaluation plans and customer support cases in Salesforce CRM

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Solid State Physics, or

semiconductor related academic program or Bachelors Degree considered with strong industry experiences

  • More than 8 years of industry experience
  • Specifically in Semiconductor manufacturing, R&D, and/or IC/Photonics design processes
  • Must have demonstration of design, modeling, and/or simulation tool usage as part of industry work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intellectually inquisitive with creative problem-solving skills
  • Persistence in tracking complex problems and projects with minimal oversight
  • The ability to prioritize activities and deliver projects on time

·Candidate is expected to travel 10-20%.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Conduct detailed circuit analysis and simulation using industry-standard CAD tools to ensure robustness,

reliability, and manufacturability.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including layout engineers, system architects, and product

managers, to drive the successful integration of analog circuits into larger systems.

  • Perform transistor-level circuit design, layout, and verification, adhering to design rules and best practices to

achieve first-pass success.

  • Characterize and test prototype circuits to validate performance, identify issues, and drive continuous

improvement.

  • Stay abreast of advancements in analog circuit design techniques, technologies, and industry trends, applying

new knowledge to enhance design methodologies and practices.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Proven experience in integrated circuit design, preferably in a industry setting
  • Proficiency in Commercial CAD tools from vendors like Silvaco, Cadence, Mentor/Siemens, Synopsys and Ansys

for circuit simulation and design.

  • Strong understanding of circuit principles, transistor-level design techniques, and semiconductor device

physics.

  • Experience with Schematic Capture and waveform viewer environments (Cadence Virtuoso, Silvaco Gateway

and SmartView)

  • Experience with SPICE Simulation to simulate circuit performance
  • SPICE (Silvaco Smartspice, Cadence Spectre, Synopsis HSPICE, etc)
  • FASTSPICE (Cadence SpectreX, Mentor AFS, Synopsys Primesim XA)
  • Experience with EM-IR analysis and associated tools (Ansys totem, Cadence Voltus, Synopsys XA)
  • Experience with physical design (layout), DRC/LVS solutions, Parasitic Extraction tools and techniques
  • Monte Carlo Simulation: Randomized spice simulations using special models provided by foundry. Allows for

checks within the boundary of process corners to guarantee operation. (E.g. Siemens Solido, Silvaco Varman)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $151,700-189,700. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and the range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training, and additional role-related considerations.

Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commission, or other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
