Staff Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Staff Site Reliability Engineer to lead our Developer Enablement team at Nursa. This pivotal role focuses on enhancing our platform's architecture, automation, uptime, and overall reliability, ensuring optimal operation and development workflow. As a technical leader, you will design platform architecture on our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments, deliver infrastructure-as-code automation, drive improvements in build and release engineering, and lead our incident response initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and maintain robust, scalable, and secure platform infrastructure on GCP across our Dev, Stage, Test, Data, and Prod environments.

• Develop and implement comprehensive platform and infrastructure automation solutions.

• Lead and optimize build and release engineering processes to improve deployment strategies.

• Design and refine CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions, enhancing development, test, deployment, and revert workflows.

• Monitor platform performance and develop automated alerts to respond quickly to any downtime or disruptions.

• Drive the team’s response to incidents, ensuring quick resolution and minimal impact.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand needs and deliver effective solutions.

• Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in site reliability and cloud technologies.

• Foster a DevOps culture at Nursa.

Requirements:

• 8-10 years of industry experience.

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a similar role in a large-scale environment.

• Strong expertise in managing infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Proficient writing and managing infrastructure as code (IaC) providers, modules, and implementations using Terraform.

• Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes using Helm charts on GKE or similar.

• Experience deploying, configuring, and managing RabbitMQ.

• Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions or similar.

• Experience developing in Python, GoLang, Javascript, and Typescript.

• Experience developing scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically and prioritize effectively.

• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and leading technical teams.

Nice to Have:

• Certifications in Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, or other relevant technologies.

• Familiarity with Datadog.

• Familiarity with LinearB.

• Familiarity with Pagerduty.

• Familiarity with Sonarcloud.

• Familiarity with CloudFlare.

• Experience in leading transformation projects in platform reliability and DevOps practices.

• Experience building and managing data warehouses and data processing workflows / environments.

• Knowledge of additional cloud services (AWS).

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
