The Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager, Indirect spend to join our European team. Role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, executing on sourcing initiatives, and managing sourcing activities focused on Indirect Spend categories in strategy alignment with & internal key stakeholders.

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 10 years of total related experience required.
  • Minimum of five 5 years of related indirect procurement, operational, or commercial experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical industries
  • Experience with matrixed global project responsibility preferred. SAP experience preferred.
  • BS/BA Degree required; master’s degree in engineering/finance preferred.
  • Certification in Supply chain analytics advanced courses will be an added advantage.
  • Fluent English language communication capabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Indirect Materials and Services category management, European or Global, as assigned.
  • Accountable for approx. $20-30 mil. spend p.a.
  • Productivity improvement and $ savings 5-10% p.a.

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Develops and presents sourcing strategies to reduce indirect category cost and supply risk
  • Leverages market intelligence and analyses to identify opportunities and risks, including but not limited to spend analysis, strategy development, contract coverage analysis, etc.
  • Collaborates with internal key stakeholders that indirect sourcing supports to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies, and that relevant market intelligence is shared
  • Develops and maintains a rolling 36 month sourcing strategy and project roadmap, identifying savings estimates, estimated timing of savings, and execution plans
  • Drives execution of category sourcing strategies (e.g., RFI/RFQ, supplier qualification, auction rounds, negotiation), coordinating with legal, key internal stakeholders, and others as required.
  • Maintains relationships with key vendors, and helps address vendor related issues (e.g., pricing issues, performance issues, etc.)
  • Monitors categories spend to ensure sourcing savings are captured and do not erode over time Conducts regular project execution reviews with Leaders, indirect Sourcing, and the respective business/functional leaders Responds to category sourcing requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Negotiates contracts in line with corporate guidelines
  • Supports the budget process by providing expectations for indirect material price inflation or deflation Commercial responsibility for a subset of Global CAPEX Spend.
  • Analyzes spend data, Explore & identify potential cost savings opportunities, develop those programs & playing key role in driving those programs by Partnering with Global indirect Procurement leadership team.
