The Cranial Spine business at Medtronic develops life-restoring technologies and solutions to treat diseases in the areas of Neurosciences, Neurosurgery and Spine. Our therapies span the care continuum from early interventional procedures to implantable surgical.  This role will be covering Southwest UK and South Wales.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Handling core responsibilities like; case coverage, inventory management, and intraoperative sales in close collaboration with the cranial and spinal Territory manager
  • Providing clinical implant support to the clinical team in theatres across the spinal and cranial procedures (i.e. ability to cover surgical synergy + implants + power/energy portfolio)
  • Upselling the full cranial spine portfolio in the theatre environment
  • Providing troubleshooting support to field sales force and customers on request
  • Planning and supporting clinical and technical training and education programs with review and input from Sales Manager and staff in the district as well as other functional groups, i.e. marketing, reimbursement, regulatory, clinical, education etc., consistent with the District Business Plan
  • Preparing study material, plans, organizing and conducting training to customers (physicians, technicians and nurses) in collaboration with the District Sales force/network team

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Life-science, Marketing, Business Administration or Biology or another relevant, advanced degree
  • Experience from the medical (device) industry or in a hospital operation room environment
  • Proven ability to operate in a matrix environment and work effectively with sales force, physicians, nurses and hospital technicians in an operating room setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects/duties as well as contributing to a larger team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively build relationships with a wide range of people and personalities, mainly at operational level in hospitals
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule and in possession of a valid driver’s license

Thorough knowledge of all business product lines and therapies and knowledge of the competitive marketplace as well as previous training/education experience would be an advantage.
