Job Description

This position is responsible for providing technical support, guidance, field trial demonstrations and training for Verdesian’s sales representatives and customers along with project management of pipeline product(s). Individual will reside in Central California/Fresno area.

The Technical Development Manager assumes responsibility and leadership for all technical elements (labels, product use direction, training materials, recommendations, field trials, and technical positioning of VLSCI products) for his/her assigned territory. The person is accountable for technical support of the Verdesian product lines to the Verdesian Sales reps and customers with the objective of meeting or exceeding established sales goals while reducing liability costs and maintaining the technical integrity of product positions.

The Technical Development Manager is responsible for ensuring that Marketing, Sales, and product development are in alignment for the area in which they support. Regular interaction with technical development peers, marketing, sales, and regulatory is critical.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical strategy and feasibility for VLS products and technologies within assigned territory
  • Oversee, track and benchmark the field development of proprietary and licensed technologies within assigned territory
  • Be a core member of a product/program/concept development team
  • Identify, inspect and liaise with 3rd party research trials & personnel, collate & analyze all data from field trials and put into a usable format for marketing
  • Contribute to technical elements (labels, technical editing, product use direction, training materials, recommendations, and technical positioning) of VLS products and technologies
  • Business-to-business technical leadership in interactions with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Product Development and key customers
  • Technical assessment and sustainable technical recommendations for assigned products and their positioning, labeling and for inclusion in business plans
  • Technical training and direction to VLSCI sales representatives
  • Technical liaison between the sales team and VLSCI customers
  • Identification, prioritization, and pursuit of new opportunities
  • Assistance/leadership in dealing with alleged product claims
  • Responsible for all field trial development (contract research and/or University) and corresponding data generation
  • Use of ARM for trial facilitation and data archiving
  • Other related duties not listed above as assigned by immediate supervisor
