Role Overview:

Dragonfli Group is seeking a Training Program Manager to design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive training program for a large utility company based on the West Coast. The role focuses on enhancing knowledge and skills in power purchase agreement (PPA) procurement, evaluation, negotiation, and risk assessment, ensuring alignment with the utility’s renewable energy and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Needs Assessment:

  • Conduct assessments to identify knowledge gaps and skill deficiencies in staff across the areas of PPA management, proposal evaluation, and risk analysis.
  • Develop a comprehensive Training Needs Assessment Report informed by project subtasks.

Training Plan Development and Implementation:

  • Design a modular training plan tailored to the utility company’s specific objectives and staff roles.
  • Create training materials, including guides, presentations, case studies, simulations, and assessments.
  • Implement hands-on training sessions covering PPA evaluation, negotiation, risk mitigation, and alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate role-playing scenarios for negotiation techniques and proposal evaluations using real-world examples.

Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with utility company leadership, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to ensure the program meets identified needs.
  • Gather feedback to continuously improve training materials and session effectiveness.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain training materials for ongoing staff reference.
  • Provide detailed progress reports and feedback summaries post-training.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in training development and program management, preferably in renewable energy, utilities, or related sectors.
  • Proven track record of delivering training programs involving PPA procurement and evaluation.

Technical Expertise:

  • Familiarity with power purchase agreements, renewable energy procurement, and regulatory compliance (e.g., state-specific renewable energy mandates).
  • Strong understanding of proposal evaluation metrics, risk assessment techniques, and renewable energy market trends.

Training Development:

  • Proficiency in creating engaging, interactive training materials using various media formats.
  • Experience conducting needs assessments and tailoring training content to diverse audiences.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., renewable energy, business, or education).
  • Certification in instructional design or corporate training is preferred.
