LMI is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to be part of an agile team designing and developing complex, enterprise level information systems. All SDET candidates must have strong communication skills, a passion for testing, and a desire to assist transitioning to an evolving suite of test-driven frameworks on high-profile projects.
Responsibilities
This is a part-time role, requiring 25-50% of your working hours. This position requires a B.S. in computer science, management information systems, engineering, or a related field. The candidate will work with a team of LMI software developers and domain experts to test web applications in support of multiple federal agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, exceptional leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of Azure environments. Additionally, the Lead Test Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the project team’s efforts to pursue an Azure based FedRAMP Moderate Authorization to Operate (ATO).
- Lead and manage the testing efforts for our Azure based SaaS, ensuring high quality and reliability for our client at the Veteran’s Affairs office.
- Work with a team of LMI software developers and domain experts to design and develop test automation frameworks for web-based applications being built in a continuous integration environment.
- Collaboration with the development team to contribute to the continuous improvement of our web based angular application through thorough testing and quality assurance practices.
- Actively participate in agile software development activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Identify, document, and track defects, and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases for development and production environments.
- Support testing efforts as the project team pursues an Azure based FedRAMP Moderate ATO.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of professional experience with an emphasis on software test automation including test framework design, development, and maintenance/support.
- Experience with the following:
- C#, .Net, Python, Java or other programming language
- Visual Studio
- Relational Databases (e.g. MS SQL)
- Test Design Patterns
- Strong experience with Azure environments and SaaS applications.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Experience with web based angular applications is preferred.
- Development experience within an agile environment.
- Using formal ticketing applications such as Atlassian Jira.
- Experience working in a consultant / client environment.
- Ability to obtain or maintain a public trust clearance.
- Experience working with the VA Office of Information and Technology (OIT)
- Experience obtaining an ATO in the Department of Veterans Affairs
