Transportation Electrification Data Scientist

We are looking for a data scientist to be part of our analytics and product development team focused on building tools that will power and advise our clients with the most cutting-edge technology available in the transportation electrification, load management, and DER industries. You will be an integral member of our agile team responsible for the creation and development of unique applications and data products, using those tools to address client challenges.

What you will be doing:
- Build robust models using Python to solve critical client challenges and develop internal tools
- Collaborate with the data engineering and visualization teams for client deliverables
- Compile data from publicly available sources and work with data engineering to prepare for analysis
- Stay abreast with policy changes that impact DERs and EV adoption
- Study the impact of DERs and EV charging infrastructure on the grid
- Engage with external partners and trade allies to obtain, clean, and interpret data related to EVs and charging infrastructure
- Support EV charging program operations, including data analysis and reporting
- Help to inform new and improved transportation electrification program design based on data analysis and trends
- Collaborate with program team members and cross-functional teams to support program success and learning
- Analyze market trends, partners, and technologies as projects and clients require
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, management information systems, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in open-source data science languages, including Python or related work experience
- 2+ years of experience in the energy or electrification industry
What we would like you to have:
- Master’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, management information systems, or related field
- Experience with statistical data analysis, experimental design, and hypothesis validation
- Experience with data cleaning and standardization best practices; ability to efficiently prepare data for machine learning and predictive processes
- Applied experience in general application programming and database concepts including writing complex SQL scripts
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, remotely, and on projects with dynamic timelines
- Experience in open-source data science tools, including NumPy and Pandas
- Experience with data modeling, data warehouse/data mart design, development, and testing
- Experience with containerization platforms, such as Docker
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Direct experience of building data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Apache Spark (preferably Databricks)
- Azure certifications (e.g., Data Engineer Associate, Data Scientist Associate, Database Administrator Associate, Solutions Architect Expert)
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or ArcGIS

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$71,958.00 - $122,328.00New York Remote Office (NY99)
