Your Opportunity

The Underwriter will play a critical role in evaluating the financial, operational, and clinical risks of both potential and existing practices within our ACO.

What You Will Do

  • Evaluate the financial, operational, and clinical performance of potential and existing practices.
  • Assess the risk level of practices seeking to join the ACO, considering financial, operational, and clinical factors.
  • Utilize underwriting tools such as ACO Builder or similar platforms to input practice information, analyze data, and assess risk profiles and performance trends.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential practice customers, payers, and other stakeholders to gather information and assess risk factors.
  • Analyze practice financial statements, performance metrics, regulatory compliance history, patient outcomes, and quality of care indicators to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Consider factors such as revenue stability, payer mix, patient population demographics, and reputation within the healthcare community when evaluating practice performance.
  • Assess the practice's ability to meet contractual obligations, maintain patient satisfaction, and achieve value-based care goals.
  • Make recommendations based on practice performance, enhance quality of care, and achieve value-based care objectives.
  • Prepare underwriting reports and presentations for the company's Underwriting Committee, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in underwriting and value-based care.

What will make you successful here

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of healthcare experience, with a focus on assessing practice risk and performance for value-based care initiatives.
  • Experience working with underwriting tools such as ACO Builder or similar platforms to input practice information and analyze data.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate, interpret, and make recommendations based on complex data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, reimbursement models, and value-based care initiatives.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with regulatory requirements.
