The Opportunity

This role is responsible for leading the assigned area of responsibility performing multi-peril crop insurance and crop hail claims to ensure claims are handled in compliance with all state, federal, legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the successful training of claims supervisors, adjusters and other assigned employees by providing performance feedback, encouraging professional growth and development and coaching individuals to achieve optimal results
  • Launch, manage and achieve annual goals and objectives within the branch and/or claims division
  • Contribute to the regional training of supervisors and adjusters
  • Build and maintain a wide network of productive working relationships with agents, adjusters, marketing representatives, branch employees, compliance representatives and other key stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and execution of processes
  • Attend arbitrations, mediations and/or trials as necessary
  • Establish and monitor default and case reserves for MPCI and Crop Hail
  • Provide guidance to claims staff around claims policies, procedures and best practices in order to maintain compliance with federal, state and corporate guidelines and regulations
  • Supervise compliance of claims handling pursuant to all state, federal and corporate procedures and requirements
  • Notify RMA of all claims that are required
  • Provide comprehensive performance feedback to marketing, underwriting and management teams regarding the quality of business and/or policy files
  • Perform audits and provide final claim approval on large, complex claims
  • Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience

• 7 years relevant experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP); must possess a valid Driver’s License

  • Thorough understanding of crop insurance coverage (MPCI & Crop Hail) state and federal regulatory guidelines
  • Advanced working knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Advanced working knowledge of claims handling processes and procedures, specifically crop

Compensation

Base pay offered will vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location and business needs

Annual Salary Range: $121,000 - $182,000
