We are looking for a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our team.
Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller, you will play a critical role in building a world-class consolidations function to help scale Sonder. You will partner with teams across Sonder to identify process inefficiencies and implement remediation to strengthen the control environment and develop best-in-class process through the use of system automation and relevant tools.
Our ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who embraces ambiguity and can work independently to solve problems. This is a unique opportunity to scale our global Accounting function and make Sonder the most loved hospitality brand in the world.
The Opportunity:
Development and execution of monthly close procedures for our global consolidations process, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP (and IFRS, as applicable)
Work cross functionally across the company to develop system flows and integrations for the order to cash process, with a focus on revenue recognition data
Help lead the implementation of best practices for accounting to scale the team with the growth of the business and revenue streams
Prepare and review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
Lead the annual financial statement audit for balance sheet related reconciliations
Develop the Accounting team, and support their growth and professional development
Who We Look For:
BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA required
6+ years of progressive Revenue Accounting experience; ideally a combination of public accounting (Big 4 or regional equivalent) and industry experience
Demonstrated knowledge of monthly close cycle
Thorough understanding of and ability to apply relevant US GAAP
Advanced Excel skills (index match, power query etc.); SQL experience preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, team building and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization and make actionable recommendations
Ability to work with teams across different time zones
Flexibility to work under time constraints and deadlines
Experience with Netsuite a plus
