IDMS Database Administrator (T1D)

This is a remote position.

TEHORA is currently seeking an IDMS database administrator with excellent technical skills, excellent knowledge, and who wishes to leverage their expertise within a versatile team. Without being exhaustive, here are the services and deliverables that the selected person must provide.

Description of work or deliverables:

• become familiar with the conceptual model of the domain in question;

• analyze data access requirements with system analysts;

• optimize and complete the definition of conceptual and logical data models;

• update the physical data model;

• update all deliverables identified in the architecture phase that concerns it, namely: implementer principles and rules, logical structure of data and structure of databases;

• specify, with the internal manager, the database development environments and the phases to be used;

• evolve the database;

• provide support to systems developers;

• participate in completing the integration and testing strategy document for aspects related to test data administration;

• prepare the development, testing, training and production components;

• participate in conversion activities;

• participate in simulation activities for production deployment;

• migrate components to production;

• provide support during production startup and implement improvements to achieve expected database performance;

• ensure recurring maintenance of the database;

• participate in problem resolution by conducting analysis, identifying impacts, proposing the appropriate solution and implementing that solution;

• participate in experimentation work on DBMS-related features;

• participate in proofs of concept related to the DBMS;

• Monitor the evolution of technologies and identify improvements to be made, in connection with your responsibilities;

• Collaborate with the technical team in problem resolution and in identifying improvement priorities for each of the activities under your responsibility;

• Be responsible for the availability, performance and maintenance of servers and storage units;

• Act as an advisor in the development of projects and solutions for the technical department;

• Participate in user support;

• Perform knowledge transfer to prepare succession;

• Perform all other activities related to this mandate.

Deliverables:

• Optimized and documented model;

• Modeling documentation according to the principles and guidelines in effect, in particular:

o logical structure of data; o database structure; o implementer principles and rules; o scripts (sources) of database components; o documented conversion strategies; o integration and testing strategies;

• Modeling documentation related to the above but adapted for agile development;

• Sources distributed and operational in the various development environments (unit/acceptance/training);

• Production environments defined and optimized on production servers;

• Documented load and space requirement analyses;

• Documented optimization choices (alternatives/choices/arguments);

• Documented strategy for production deployment;

• Results of production deployment simulation (listing, etc.);

• Impact studies on IDMS patches to be implemented;

• Planning of activities for the implementation of IDMS patches;

• Recommendations to authorities regarding the deployment of patches;

• Recommendations regarding IDMS performance;

• Any document underlying the previous responsibilities.

Profil

1. Have ten years of experience as a database administrator in the IDMS database management system;
2. Have four years of experience in configuring databases and data environments that must support a high level of service (performance), while ensuring a high level of data security and confidentiality; 3. Have participated as DBA in two (2) projects of 5,000 person-days or more, in an environment comparable to that of the organization, having to ensure the deployment of databases and support to the development team; 4. Demonstrate that the resource has four years of experience on z/OS;
3. Demonstrate that the resource has two years of experience with SQL-IDMS and Data sharing;
4. Have excellent knowledge of the Z/OS operating system (central platform or mainframe);
5. Demonstrate that the resource has seven years of experience with the Customer Information Control System (CICS), in a context of using the IDMS DBMS (Broadcom) 8. Demonstrate that the resource has five years of experience with Assembler and Cobol programming languages; WORKPLACE

Salaire

The salary will be calculated on the basis of the average hourly rate corresponding to your profile.
