We currently have a career opportunity for a Business Consultant to join our Product Development Consulting team.

Job Overview:

The role of the Business Consultant is for individuals passionate about identifying and delivering the right Business solution for each client. Our Business Consultants have a keen Business orientation with an understanding of how technology can be effectively applied to meet a variety of Business needs.

The Business Consultant may be involved in the strategic planning of an engagement or helping the client make decisions about their future IT direction. Once a project has begun, the Business Consultant may assist in facilitating key requirements with stakeholders and customers using standard and User Experience techniques. The Business Consultant may be responsible for functional designs, detailed designs and system mapping, wireframes, requirement specifications, and prototypes.

The Business Consultant works with the Lead Business Consultant and Senior Project Managers to assist with daily operations exercising time management, communication and collaboration in a fast-paced environment to ensure the successful delivery of projects. The Business Consultant will interface with Perficient technical and business delivery personnel, as well as vendors and customers on a regular basis.

  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application developed for our clients.
  • Work with solution architects and developers on interpretation/translation of wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical design.
  • Work with the business on refining their high-level requirements into concrete data requirements with a defined set of business outcomes from data.
  • Reverse engineer existing code to document and incorporate into the data requirements gathering process.
  • Build source to target mappings that documents how the data should move from the source system to the new target data model.
  • Maintain regular client communication and satisfaction, ensuring opportunities and challenges are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Help deliver presentations to clients and management teams.
  • Translate client's business needs into detailed business requirements documents, use cases and systems interaction diagrams.
  • Support the development team and ensure a full understanding of the source to target mappings.
  • Help to establish critical path, milestones, delivery dates, and review client deliverables to ensure they meet client acceptance criteria.
  • Help support defect triage of issues and determine root cause
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience level.
  • 4+ years of professional business analysis experience, with strong relationship management, account management and support experience.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Document acceptance criteria in Gherkin format for test automation.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Highly detail oriented, well organized, and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work with QA but also perform testing/troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Energetic, motivated, service-oriented, and be able to multitask.
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Flexible to new situations and challenges
  • Ability to work across in various US time zones, depending on client requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related experience

Nice to have:

  • Healthcare experience working with payer data, such as claims, eligibility, and member benefits data.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $45,864 to $101,520. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
