Role Description
As our Business Intelligence Architect, you will take all the raw data pipelines and, using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), write simplified and streamlined foundational scripts for our Data Community. As part of the Data Community, you’ll closely collaborate with GFiber’s Engineering and data teams as well as business subject matter experts in Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance to have the right information to stand up data-related projects and more. While also remaining highly technical and writing scripts yourself, you’ll also have the opportunity to manage a team of vendors and contractors through a new era in GFiber’s history.
In this role, you'll:
- Guide cross-functional teams through the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) implementation and improve foundational scripts and pipelines that join raw data from Engineering, setting analysts up for success to develop reports visuals and insights.
- Use SQL and other technologies to create foundational pipelines and data extractions with large data sets, coaching others to do the same based on end to end designs and approaches.
- Provide technical leadership on GCP deployment architecture, development guidelines, data delivery layer (data sources, workbooks, and reports).
- Project manage timelines and priorities alongside Eng system and tool releases.
- Drive analytical problem-solving and deep dives - work with large, complex data sets; solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of cross-functional partners, including senior management, to understand business needs, formulate, and complete end-to-end data analysis and other complex projects.
- Directly manage a team of temporary work support, alongside the existing full time analyst community, to execute on script, pipeline, report, dashboard, and email updates.
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
- 5 years of experience in business intelligence server architecture, migration solutions, visualization, pipeline visualizations, data analysis, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience leveraging SQL for data manipulation and optimization.
- 2 years of leadership in a technical role.
- Experience leading the implementation, development, and execution of activities in the GCP platform.
- Experience in migration planning and execution to move legacy business intelligence platforms and processes at scale. Design and construct GCP foundation and implement a long-term strategy for GCP platform for the data community.
It's preferred if you have:
- Understanding of how a System and Tool landscape works in harmony with data and analytics, and can partner with Engineering to improve this relationship.
- Ability to build productive and beneficial relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated business presentation abilities, effectively communicating complex analytic outcomes to fulfill business requirements.
- Experience in defining and documenting processes, training and best practices, and strategies for existing and future business intelligence solutions.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $164,000 - $241,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
