You’ll be joining a team of passionate teachers working to create and edit Twinkl’s online content for teachers across the UK. The majority of your time will be spent working with other Content Writer/Editors and Designers; engaging with product priorities to facilitate the highest possible quality of teacher content for our customers. This post will be based on a Fast Response team, known as Rapid Rapid Response (RRR), which aims to fill content gaps and upload lovely new resources on-site within 2 hours.

Your weekly activities could include:

  • Creating new resources to support teaching and learning across the curriculum;
  • Sensitively responding to and giving editorial feedback around grammar and punctuation, curriculum relevance and factual accuracy, as well as working alongside colleagues to elevate a resource to an excellent standard;
  • Using your teaching knowledge and experience to support the team with their resource content;
  • Producing resources which respond to customer needs and current teaching methodologies;
  • Meeting with other team members to discuss and develop new ideas;
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills with the writers, editors, designers and illustrators that you collaborate with;
  • Curating existing content on site to ensure that it is up to date and meets customers' needs;
  • Ideating daily content to make on your team and also sending ideas for new content to other product teams across Twinkl;
  • Administrative tasks associated with this role.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community and keen to share their expertise with others in their team. This position can take place at Sheffield HQ or it can be a work-from-home position.

Due to the nature of the team, working together to upload new resources quickly within the 2-hour remit, the role requires working 7.5 hours daily between 8am-4.30pm Monday-Friday. Flexibility around other commitments, such as childcare, can be discussed.

Essential for remote working - You will need access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb down and 1mb upload. We recommend you use speedtest.net to check.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • have completed primary qualified teacher status: PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent;
  • have 2 years of full classroom teaching experience after QTS is complete;
  • be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
  • have detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum in England;
  • be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and G Suite;
  • understand the teaching community in England, knowing their unique pressures and current educational trends;
  • have a drive for continuous professional development.

In this role, you will learn:

  • how to ideate and create diverse, inclusive, engaging and varied resources for children and teachers right through to publication;
  • how to check written content and provide feedback for other writers;
  • how to check designs to ensure they follow brand guidelines;
  • how to work in ‘agile’ teams, allowing you to solve problems and change tasks quickly to meet deadlines;
  • how to collaborate with educational professionals based across the UK through our company focus groups and customer feedback requests;
  • how to apply your teaching experience to create new products, from the ideation stage to publication of resources on-site.

You’ll work with:

  • Chloe Marshall, your own direct Line Manager (RRR Team Leader);
  • Holly Fenner, Stephen O’Neill and Gemma Edwards (RRR Team Leaders);
  • our team of qualified teachers who currently write, edit and produce content for the team;
  • other teams within the Fast Response Group at Twinkl, including Rapid Response (RR), SEO Design and Design Support (DS);

• our amazing in-house designers!

We're interested in any experienced and fully qualified teachers who have taught EYFS, KS1 or KS2 in UK classrooms with full class responsibility and who can demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the content of the 2014 National Curriculum.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to be able to start in this role pretty quickly. We are planning a May/June start date (or earlier if possible).

Along with your up to date CV, please submit a cover letter to help us better understand why you are interested in this position and how your skills and teaching experience will make you successful in this specific role.
