About the Role:

We’re looking for a creative communications specialist to join our brand marketing team as a copywriter. You’ll help refine our brand voice across our marketing channels and throughout the customer experience, with compelling copy that voices our mission and drives conversions. Our ideal candidate is a storyteller who can think strategically and conceptually and who’s comfortable working in a fast-paced, execution-oriented startup environment.   • An expert communicator with a keen ability to conceptualize, package, and execute great storytelling across multiple channels
  • A playful writer who prizes brevity, wit, and creativity
  • A person with obsessive attention to detail who delivers flawless copy, from email subject lines to blog headlines
  • A decisive but flexible collaborator who enjoys working cross-functionally and is able to negotiate feedback from various stakeholders
  • A strategic and conceptual thinker who can work autonomously and doesn’t need hand holding
  • Someone who’s well-versed in food media and is driven by a desire to connect with consumers through cooking and eating

What You’ll Do:

  • You’ll help get the word out about our food-waste-fighting mission and boil our service down into persuasive RTBs that come through in every touchpoint
  • Continuously hone our company brand voice as we evolve
  • Be an advocate for the customer
  • Work closely with the Growth marketing team to help create ads, marketing strategies, landing pages, and campaigns across social, display, and email channels
  • Work with our Product team to support our brand voice throughout the customer journey and lifecycle
  • Partner with brand teams and content creators on messaging
  • Work cross-functionally with leadership, marketing, product, and engineering
  • Balance the demand of day-to-day tasks with big-picture brand aspirations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communication, or Creative Writing
  • Have 3 - 5 years of copywriting experience at an advertising agency, e-commerce company or large brand; food experience preferred
  • Copywriting for a variety of platforms across print and digital experience a must (social, OOH, paid & owned media), including large-scale interactive projects
  • Experience with consumer-facing advertisements and products
  • A sense of humor and flexibility—you’ll need it to work in our fast-paced startup environment!
  • Bonus points if you:
  • Have experience with email marketing
  • Have experience working in subscription-based business models
  • Are excited about the Misfits mission and reducing food waste
