Job Description

About Misfits Market

Misfits Market is a mission-driven, high-growth startup dedicated to reducing food waste and making shopping for sustainable, high-quality groceries easier and more affordable. We deliver organic produce, high-quality meats and seafood, plant-based proteins, dairy, bakery, wine, and other grocery items to nearly every zip code in 48 states at up to 30 percent off traditional grocery store prices. In 2022, Misfits Market acquired sustainable e-grocer Imperfect Foods and now leverages its in-house transportation network to deliver directly to consumers with one of the most carbon-efficient grocery delivery models on the market. By tackling inefficiencies in the food system, our passionate and motivated team of problem solvers helps save an average of 500,000 pounds of food per week from waste or lesser outcomes, with an all-time savings of 190+ million pounds of food.

Growth at Misfits Market

Misfits Market is looking for a Product Manager to join our Product team and Growth Squad and play a critical role in scaling the company’s user base and revenue. As part of the Growth Squad, we focus on optimizing customer experience, prioritizing key opportunities, designing creative solutions, and leading growth efforts across various touchpoints and audiences. As Growth Product Manager, you will drive the strategic ideation and execution of projects focused on our North Star metrics while obsessing over the data and delivering measurable results. This includes identifying optimization opportunities, conceptualizing best-in class customer experiences, collaborating with a small dedicated squad to design and implement tests, and analyzing results to inform future iterations, evolution, and sustainable scale.

This role reports to the Associate Director of Product, Growth and works collaboratively and cross-functionally with our Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams. You should have hands-on experience developing, planning, launching, and analyzing rapid yet meaningful tests to drive sustainable and efficient business results in areas such as acquisition, retention, and revenue. You should also be comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and bring a strong curiosity and self-starter attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the strategic roadmap for onsite experimentation, focused on driving growth across key areas of the business.
  • Partner with your stakeholders to deeply understand the challenges they’re facing and the opportunities for your area of the business.
  • Analyze data and user feedback to identify key pain points and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Design, Marketing, Data and other teams to conceptualize and explore ideas to drive growth, ruthlessly prioritizing what will be the biggest needle movers.
  • Run new testing initiatives and projects end to end through the product lifecycle (ideation, execution, analysis) to quickly and iteratively maximize conversion, retention, and revenue at scale.
  • Seek out, create, and leverage data (including customer insights) to inform the size of the opportunities you’re chasing, document the impact of your work, and inform the prioritization of the product roadmap.
  • Experiment often and sometimes autonomously, leaning into iterative learning over perfection. You’ll write copy in partnership with our Brand team and build experiments/landing pages as needed.
  • Work with Front End Engineers to implement experiments, and edit/implement code if comfortable with HTML/JS/CSS.
  • Remain informed of industry trends and insights to ensure the business is leveraging best practices and a leader in strategic experimentation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years in Product Management or a similar role. Experience driving experimentation strategies and meaningful business growth through iterative hypothesis-based testing.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical analysis, web analytics and A/B testing tools.
  • You are a curious person who loves to structure ambiguous problems and choose an approach in a data-driven way.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator. Experience writing narrative documents on topics such as Product Briefs, Experiment Briefs and Product Requirements Documents. Experience communicating and presenting to Senior leadership, including technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Comfortable collaborating with and giving direction on copy and design with strong writing skills to help jump start the copy testing process.
  • Deep understanding of best practices and tools enabling growth optimization.
  • Self-motivated and energetic individual with a high level of initiative who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Customer-centric champion who is excited about our mission and looking forward to building Misfits Market with a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of
    • Experimentation platforms like Optimizely and VWO
    • Landing page platforms like Unbounce and Instapage
    • HTML, CSS, and/or JS
    • Tag managers and other containers (GTM, GA, Segment, mParticle)
    • SQL
    • BI/Data Tools (Mode, Metabase, etc)
    • Product Analytics tools (Heap, Amplitude, etc)

Details of Position and Benefits

  • Salary range $115k-$130k
  • Full-time exempt position
  • 100 % Remote Work
  • Salary and employee stock options commensurate with experience
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Multiple health, dental, and vision plan options
  • Life Insurance
  • 401K plan
