About the Team:
The Misfits Market Inventory Planning Team is responsible for ensuring that we are maintaining healthy inventory levels across all segments of our business, while minimizing risk to shrink and keeping in-stock levels at target. The team also works closely with the Category Management team to support managing our incredible vendor relationships, sourcing and purchasing. Working closely with our vendor/manufacturing partners, the Procurement Team leads the charge at Misfits Market in fighting food waste not only at the farm level but with consumer packaged goods as well.
About the Role:
We are looking to hire a passionate planning professional to join the Inventory Planning Team at Misfits Market as an Inventory Planner/Buyer for the Produce department. The Produce Inventory Planner/Buyer will work alongside the Produce Planning team & directly with a Produce Category Manager as we expand our supplier network and take on food waste at a larger scale. The Produce Inventory Planner will execute on the purchasing plans created by the category manager, including, but not limited to - forecasting weekly demand, Purchase Order management including issuing PO’s to vendors, planning expected pick and delivery times, inventory management, coordinating with our transportation team, communicating with the operations team in our various facilities, and much more.

Responsibilities:
- Strategically plan inventory levels and PO placement across a variety of produce commodities
- Own inventory levels, shrink, in stock rate for your commodities
- Work cross functionally with the Category Management Team, Transportation Team & Warehouse Teams to manage inventory levels, coordinate transportation and arrival times
- Work directly with vendors to ensure PO fulfillment and maintain excellent vendor relationships
- Monitor and analyze our inventory to identify potential opportunities or liabilities to shrink or in stock rate
- Potential to attend 1-2 trade shows a year
- Some weekend coverage required
Skills and Qualifications:
- 1-2 years Produce Inventory Planning/Buying experience - produce experience preferred
- Proficiency with G-Suite, Excel, Word & Slack
- Experience with Salesforce, Netsuite or other ERP systems is strongly preferred
- Ecommerce experience is a plus
- Adaptable to a startup environment. Willing to learn new programs and systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple teams
- Fast on their feet and quick to make thoughtful decisions
